Introduction

Theology is the study of spiritual beliefs and faith. It is a field which looks not into the groups that exhibit a set of beliefs or the institutions that teach them, but rather, into the beliefs themselves.

The whole purpose of theology is to figure out and understand the often complex beliefs held by inarticleiduals around the world, from Christianity to Hinduism to those who practice witchcraft and animal sacrifice. Depending on the inarticleidual doing the research, this can take a historical, ethical, religious, or even a simple investigatory outlook, and this can certainly effect the way certain ideas and related practices are conveyed and precieved.

The concept of heaven, as an example, can vary wildly in different groups throughout history. If you approach the concept with a purely historic mindset, the conclusions you might come to will undoubtedly be very different, though not always unreconcilable, from one who approaches it with the advent of faith. Theology is a very complex ethos, and can have a major impact on modern society, whether we are aware of those effects and influences or not.

Interestingly, while theological debates can become quite heated for various reasons, theology itself cannot be proven or disproven. Rather, the theological beliefs held by inarticleiduals can only be honestly assessed on their suppossed merit or wordly grounding. A commonly held belief today is that science and theology are at odds, however, it is more often the case that both science and faith are enriched when taking cues from one another.

As this is a very special subject, given that it deals directly with the personal and often sacred beliefs held by millions (and sometimes billions) around the world, we would like to make it clear that if you hold a different theology relating to various world religions, spiritual beliefs, or historical events, you are more than welcome to hold to that. Our intention is not to prove or disprove anything, but to provide an interesting look into beliefs we ourselves find interesting and/or often misunderstood.
